As Veena was trying to adjust her sitting position, Suri resisted and made it difficult for her. "How fast the times are changing! This boy was so little, not greater than an arms length before. It just seems like yesterday!" - she was thinking along these lines, when Suri slightly moved on her lap. Chandran was lying on Suri's lap and he too expressed his displeasure.

"Like father, like son!" thought Veena. They two had a lot in common. Both of them picked up things fast. They started to crawl, sit, walk and even talk faster. And both had sharp facial features and a strong frame. Both had a short temper too. While her son had been the topper in the school and college where he studied, she was sure that her grandson would be too!

Her joy knew no bounds when her son brought his grandson to her that sunday and now, all are watching tv, in comfortable position. Her husband had been out, to buy icecream for the grandson. She was lost in so wonderful thoughts when Chandran complained that Suri was moving too much, making it difficult for him to keep his head on. Suri started complaining too - "you never remain stationary and keep moving your head on my lap. Its very difficult!"

When Chandran started to reply, Veena silenced him and said, "Why Chandran, after all Suri is only 5. Don't you think its too much to keep your head on his lap and roll on it?"

As she was saying this, she remembered a similar event when Chandran was on her lap, as a little boy and refused his father to lie either on his or his mom's lap.

You are right Sreema. Thanks very much for your feedback. After writing this, I thought this to be very abstract and not pointing anywhere, yet I liked to leave it as is, for, there is a strange thing visualized here, where a grandson is lying on the grandma's lap and his father, lying on his lap. -rgs
