Oatmeal for dinner to 10 month old

    Hi all,
    Is it OK to give oatmeal for dinner to 10 month old.
    is it too heaty.
    He does'nt drinks water other than what goes in preparing formula milk.
    He sleeps well after having oats for dinner.
    I prepare them in water+very little salt+butter, and he likes it warm.

    Pls guide.

    Oats are fine for a 10month old baby.
    But water...have you tried giving water with little sugar candies/crystals in it.May be he will like that too

    Skip sugary instant oatmeal. One serving of instant oatmeal can contain as much as 10 or 11 grams of added sugar. When your child eats too much refined sugar at breakfast he'll be sluggish and tired before lunchtime. Instead opt for unsweetened instant oatmeal to keep your child's sugar intake lower. Read nutrition labels to find instant oatmeal brands that contain little or no added sugar

    Vidhya, I agree with Dinny, its probably not best to introduce instant oatmeal yet. Also, I remember asking the same question when my DD was that age. Apparently oatmeal doesnt have that much if a nutritional value to it. So, if you are just starting solids, perhaps you can hold off oatmeal for a bit.
