    Today is National Parfait Day.

A parfait consists of layers of ice cream, whipped cream, and any combination of syrups and fruits. Yes, it's basically a fancy word for a sundae. And, it's usually served in a fancy glass.

Celebrate this day by eating Parfaits. While chocolate is by far the favorite, use your imagination to create a wide range of single and mixed flavors.
Savor your favorite flavor of parfait, as you enjoy National Parfait Day.

Sara today am sharing with you my fav parfait delight.:crazy

    Thanksgiving day
Tucked between the two monster sized holidays of Halloween and Christmas, Thanksgiving receives far less attention. But Thanksgiving is a very important holiday, especially in the busy lives of Americans. It is a time to kick back and relax, watch a football game or go to a movie, and enjoy a huge feast. It's also time for us to give thanks to our God, for the things he has bestowed upon us and upon this great nation. There is no nation in the world that has more to be thankful for than us.

    Thanksgiving History:

The first Thanksgiving was celebrated between the Pilgrims and the Indians in 1621.That first feast was a three day affair. Life for the early settlers was difficult. The fall harvest was time for celebration. It was also a time of prayer, thanking God for a good crop. The Pilgrims and the Indians created a huge feast including a wide variety of animals and fowl, as well as fruits and vegetables from the fall harvest. This early celebration was the start of today's holiday celebration. Like then, we celebrate with a huge feast.
Today, most of us enjoy Turkey with "all the trimming". The "trimming" include a wide variety of foods that are a tradition for your family. Those traditional foods often replicate the foods at the first Thanksgiving feast. While others, are traditional ethnic or religious groups recipe, or a special food item that your family always serves at Thanksgiving dinner. Then, to top it off, pumpkin pies, apple pies, an even mince meat pies are bountiful around the table.
The American traditions of Thanksgiving revolve around a huge and lavish meal, usually with Turkey as the centerpiece. For those who do not like Turkey, a Roast or Prime Rib is common. As tradition has it in most families, a special prayer of thanks precedes the meal. In many homes, family members will each mention something they are very thankful for.
Did you know? Potatoes were not part of the first Thanksgiving. Irish immigrants had not yet brought them to North America. After the first Thanksgiving, the observance was sporadic and almost forgotten until the early 1800's. It was usually celebrated in late September or October. In 1941, Congress made it a national holiday and set the date as the fourth Thursday in November.

Shopping Reminder Dayis today. On your mark. Get Set. Go Shop!

If we all heed this reminder, there is no doubt the malls and stores will be mobbed. But, wait a minute!? Isn't the holiday season already in full gear? Aren't we being blasted with ads on Television, radio, newspapers and billboards? How could we not know, that it's time to shop for the holidays?

There is no shortage of fun, crazy, wacky and special days. Some of them are a little "wackier" than others. As we pondered this special day, we realized if you need a special day this time of year, to remind you to do your holiday shopping, then it's not just this special day that's a little wacky .......
So, just in case you weren't thinking about it.... please remember to do your holiday shopping.
Whatever your means of transportation, have a happy Shopping Reminder Day.[IMG]

You're Welcome Day encourages us to simply say "You're welcome". It helps to put manners back into society.

This very special day comes the day after Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving Day we say "Thanks" for what we have. So, it only seems natural, that "You're Welcome" immediately follows a thank you.

Participating in this day can happen anywhere that you are, and anywhere that you go today. Just speak a profusion of "thank you's" for even the slightest of reasons. When you say thank you, make sure to be sincere. It will go a long ways.
Are you enjoying this special day? If so, You're welcome!

Black Friday, or Retail Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. It is one of the two busiest shopping days of the year. In case you didn't know, the other busiest shopping day is the day after Christmas, when throngs of shoppers, on holiday vacation, mob the stores to use gift certificates they received, and to exchange merchandise.

    Why Black??
In the world of accountants, red signifies a loss, and black signifies a profit. For many retailers, the Christmas holiday sales season represents one half to three quarters of their annual sales. Often, retailers are losing money , until holiday sales begin. Holiday sales formally begin on the day after Thanksgiving. So, Black Friday represents that turning point,. from a loss towards big profits!
We hope you enjoy Black Friday almost as much as the retailers do!

Are you tired of the commercialism of Christmas? Then, this special day is for you. Buy Nothing Day is a 24 hour moratorium on holiday shopping. It was created as a protest against the commercialism of this most sacred of holidays.
Aside from abstaining from shopping on this day, we suggest you reflect upon the true meaning of Christmas. Take a minute to remember what this season is really all about.

The real purpose of Pins and Needles Day is to commemorate the opening of the pro-Labor play Pins and Needles on Broadway on this day in 1937. Over decades of time, people lost track of the original meaning of this day.

Today, most people look upon Pins and Needles Day, as a nervous and anxious day. Its a day of eager anticipation, as we await an event or for something to happen. One could argue that kids are on pins and needles from now until Christmas, as they nervously wonder if they have been good enough to receive a visit from Santa in a few weeks.

Of all the special days on the calendar, this is a nerve racking day. You are on pins and needles until that special future event successfully unfolds. And, if it doesn't.......... well we will just think positively.
We hope you have a happy, and calm, and relaxing Pins and Needles Day!
