    Hi Crossaints

Fantastic that you had 2VBACs successfully. However thumb rule with a VBAC = Absolutely NO INDUCTION.

    Re: Second time c Section

There is indeed a risk of scar rupture with a V-BAC if it is not monitored closely at all times by a very qualified doctor, in a fully equipped environment... as opposed to a substituting junior doctor in an unprepared environment. Any responsible gynec will tell you that this is true.

This is what WebMD has to say about uterine rupture and VBACs:
Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)-Risks of VBAC and Cesarean

And this is what happens when a VBAc is not administered with due care:
The VBAC gone wrong « The Mad Momm

Agree that the baby's lungs develop only in week 40. However, having had two extremely healthy C-sec deliveries, I can say from first hand experience that my second child has never had respiratory issues of any kind.

    Good luck!

    Re: Second time c Section

The OP has had her baby through a second c-section. The OP was looking at VBAC at almost the last month. In my opinion it does carry some risk. The ones I have seen happen start preparing for a VBAC from the second trimester, when they start child birth classes, going through hypnobirthing and working with their OBs. A lot of them do form great rapport with the handful of OBs who do want to give Vaginal Birth a try after a c-section. They have a good birth plan going and a plan B too. Given the risks all OBs I have seen keep track of every single step in the woman's labour. It does carry its own risk, but a good team can always pull it off. IMO!

Normal Delivery : Bangalore or Delhi

    Hi

I am due to deliver in Jan '10 and really want a normal delivery only.

I currently consult Dr. Suman Singh at Apollo, ..she is a nice doc but I am not sure of her track record for normal deliveries .
I also have the option of delivering in Delhi, incase there is a good doc who is known for normal deliveries.

Can you pls refer a good gynecologist in banglore or delhi ?

    Thanks !!

Re: Normal Delivery : Bangalore or Delhi

    Hi Rashmi

I have info on both cities but dont know how to share it here. Cant send you a PM. maybe you can send me an email by looking up directory under Chennai for Childbirth classes and I can reply with info about Delhi and bangalore.

Also search bangalore here as we have discussed it earlier.

    Cheers

Negotiating(?!!) with doctor for a normal delivery- Tips needed

Hi All, I'm 35 weeks pregnant now and have come to India for my delivery.. I see that most of the deliveries here in my hometown(Coimbatore) are c-sections .. I prefer to have a normal delivery unless and otherwise there are true complications in having one..

However, I want to put it across to my gynae sternly but also such that she doesnt misunderstand. I guess gynaes get bit upset when we try to pressurize them for a normal delivery (probably, it may sound like we tell them they are money minded and trying to force a c-section for their ease). My gynae told that she would try for a normal delivery. I would've been happier if she had not added the next statement.. Her view was that in most of the cases, the baby's head doesnt get fixed and that she is seeing more cases of these!! Now what do I say for that?

Most of us are forced to go by doctor's words at the tense situations of labour and delivery where the only thing running in our minds is the safety of the mother and the baby and our ears dread to hear anything sounding like "risky". I would say someone who has a close friend or relative who knowledgeable enough to judge whether it makes sense to go for c-section, should be really lucky.. Friends, if you have someone like that, esp in India, I honestly feel that they deserve a good treat!

Unfortunately, I dont have anyone who could assist me in this regard at the time of labour. Anyways, I've made up my mind to do a sincere talk to doctor and leave the rest to god.

Can any of you who had experience in negotiating with gynaes in India share your views on how to do the "talking"? One of my friends suggestion was not to go to hospital until we are actually into labour (True labour). Not because we are very close to due date or having false contractions..Would that help in any way?

Will be happy to get any of your suggestions.:bowdown
