We relocated from Pune to USA and now after 4 years planning to return to India to settle in chennai. Our 2 wheelers (in storage in Tamil Nadu) have Maharashtra registration.

To change the registration ,we need a 'no objection certificate' . I am not sure whether it is from RTO or police.

my query is whether we need to physically bring the vehicle there, or is it enough to show the documents?

    please help.

    hi,

Noc has to be taken from the Rto where it was registered(Maharashtra).THis is done for Road tax purposes. You need not take the vehicle. But you need to pay the road tax in TN.This Noc is valid for 1 year.within 1 year you have to apply for TN registration.
I THink this will be helpful to you.
