Dear All, All good things have to come to an end the saying goes. One more thing that has gone today is the telegram. Yesterday was the last day of the telegram in India. We have crossed so many milestones and yet this is one more. The next generation would never know what a telegram. It is very sad that most of us do not have a copy of one that we can show to say this was what the telegram was. Most of the younger generation today do not know these: 1. Petromax light 2. Hurricane lamps 3. Fountain pens (seldom used today) 4. Telephone with the round dials 5. Cross talks on phones 6. Punch card program on computers 7. Railway engines running on coal energy Even writing letters are out dated today. Can anyone add more to this list that are forgotten today Regards, Uma
