New to bay area - weekend tour with parents - suggestions?

Hi All,

I will be coming to the bay area next month. My parents will be able to stay with me for 3 days (Fri, Sat, Sun).
I would like to show them around and am looking for suggestions of places to show.
My father likes architectural and science based places (he is a technology lover and is well informed). My mother loves temples and places with a lot of flora.
Could you please provide some suggestions of places within driving distance of the bay area and in San francisco? We will probably be staying in a hotel around Sunnyvale.
