    It all depends on the sago quality. Try soaking for just 5 mts & use hot & not boiling water. Or, best, follow the first Sago khichdi recipe, I have given.

    Simply because we make small quantities of rasam - less than sambar & the rasam need not boil as a whole, as such.We just froth it, right?

    Dear Latha (traveller),
    thanks a lot, the cake was even pramadam, I did not get much to eat. I had to give to many of my friends ang got good FBs. Now I am planning when to make it again and eat to my heart's contend. Do try.

    Dear Chithra,
    the taste was even pramadham, though I had to omit some of the essences and spices. I am trying to collect all that and try again. The colour was not dark due to absence of the essences. What about substituting jaggery for sugar?
    I made kootu with kootu powder today, yet to taste.

    The colour is due to treacle & not essences, Varloo!
    Any substitution in baking recipes - I am reluctant, frankly?? But why????????
