See this occasion as an opportunity to mend fences with your mother. Maybe even bond with your SiL. If Covid has taught us anything, it is how fleeting life can be.

Hello Everyone, Thanks a lot for all the beautiful sensible replies. I made up my mind to keep all the differences aside and just go and celebrate the little child. We booked tickets and even planned outfits and other things.

Unfortunately, my daughter fell sick a few days before departure and then rest of us followed one by one. we ended not going. I don't know how to feel about this. hate the fact that my daughter fell sick. at the same time, feel bad that I failed my nephew. relieved that i didn't have to go through the motions of feigning all is well? Perhaps I am overthinking perhaps not! who knows?!
