Neighbor's New Dog

    I live in gated community townhouse.
    my neighbor got a puppy or kitten not sure.
    Every day night it keeps howling , meowing type of sound. At first I tried to ignore.
    But everynight it's irritating it keeps howling whole night. I think they lock the pet in pet box or cage at night. Upon morning the sound ceases.
    It's happening for last 15 days. It really gives me bad headache, my other neighbor is also irritated with this. Her child not sleeping well.
    I don't know the neighbor, how to approach?
    there is no HOA or neighborhood association.

    I can totally relate to this. An year ago there was a dog at my neighbors apartment. It used to bark non stop. We got so annoyed and complained to leasing office several times. But after an year gradually the noise decreased and finally they shifted the apartment. Phew!!!

    Aww poor wee thing. :(

    Try talking to your neighbor politely first. That often solves the problem. And you get to know your neighbor.

    If that doesn't work, check your city's noise ordinance. You may be able to report them to the cops or to animal control.
