Need Your Valuable Opinions!

I'm new to IL and this my first post.
Kindly don't give rude answers or hurtful comments. Please share your opinions and views on my post.

I have been using whatsapp from past 2 years or so and I have groups from my school and college. Other than groups some common friends.
Every recently I'm encountering some bad experience from a lady on whatsapp. I don't know her that well to share my personal talks. I met her at my friend's place but we randomly exchanged phone numbers.
So, now I see her in my whatsapp every day and she spy's my status all the time and telling to my friend that I'm online so n so time, or commenting on my profile picture.
My friend is frustrated to listening to her comments all the time. And my friend told me that this lady is always talking about me and Indeed I don't share much friendship with this lady at all and she is extremely curious about my friends circle and want to know more about me. But I don't have any idea why she is targeting me. We don't have anything in common to compare or to talk about. My friend also says she gossips about her own friends and told Me to take it easy but this is bothering...
Should I confront her and clear things?
Or should I ignore her?
