Need to go to home country..middle of change of status H4 to F1.what are the options?

    Hi ,
    I have applied for the Change of Status (COS) from H4 to F1 in the month of sept 2010.
    I will be going to India this dec...so what are the options that I can go for in order to get my F1.

    Generally, how long does this transfer take...

    COS application does not hold good if you travel outside the country.You will have to get it stamped to an F-1 from India.

    my concern was...i dint get my COS F1..was worried about it....
    And yes as u said i need F1 stamp for travelling...
