    Hi,

I got to know this month that I am carrying.
My DH goes to office by 8 am and comes back by 7 pm.
how much ever I see tv or on net, getting bored.
Before pregnancy I was active in weight loss threads.Time was flying quick.
Now cooking smell gives me vomiting sensation. So that is also ruled out.
Not much friends here.I everyday plan I should read a book.
Listen to music. But somehow I have become couch potato and feel very low
and not interested in anything.I used to work but after moving to Canada have quit my job.Feeling very lonely and low.:eek

Please suggest me how you guys are spending time.

Hi Gae3, first of all congratulations....... :) do you know knitting or crocheting ?? you can make many cute cute things for the baby... like baby blankets, cocoons, socks etc...... this will keep you really busy. there is a thread for crochet/knitting in IL, at this moment I can think of this only.... lets see what others say ......

Also you can watch cute videos of babies in youtube :)

    Hi Gae3,

Do some painting/drawing/handwork if you are interested...

Engage yourself to a video chat with ur relatives, friends whenever possible....

Plan to do some decorations(gather some ideas) for ur kids room.....

Pay a visit to the library nearby.....

Go out for a walk listening to music /with dh whenever possible

Indulge yourself in growing indoor plants/buy a pair of fish if you like, time will fly watching these stuffs ,choose plants /fishes which will be easy to maintain as it should not be a burden for you!!!!!!!!!!

    Gae3,

    Congrats! :)

Start planning watch to buy for the baby, which product to buy, etc etc. I do it during weekends and my time flies.

If you have a library in your area, visit there and read your favorite books.
Learn a new skill like knitting/crocheting and you can start making cute outfit for your baby. :)

I'm have to run. will get back to you with more ideas if I can :)

    2. Go out with your husband after he comes home for a walk or a drive
    3. Inform yourself about having healthy pregnancy and child
    4. In Toranto, there are lots and lots of Indians. Make friends with them and have them over to your home for a snack
    5. Which field were you working on? Keep upto date with trends in that field

    hey gae3,

many preggie moms are at home dear. i left my job as i was pregnant.

first 3 months is bad, later on you will feel energetic.

read prayers to god. cook, clean your home(light housekeeping) wash utensils, go to laundry, watch comedy shows, look posters of cute babies, read books, register in baby center, do preggie shopping for you, whatever you feel like eating google it and make the food, enjoy eating it. relax, go to a spa like pregnancy spa, go to walk in cool shades eg:park etc, call your friends, call your home, read some technicall stuff, read news, read general knowledge, relax in your bath tub(not jaccuzi), read pregnancy stuffs coz you will get to know what is common, expected during pregnancy.

talk to il's and answer posts, read other posts. enjoy life :) all the best and congrats :)

sleepp!! in the first trimester, you will be sleeping and lying or rolling on bed, enjoy all this... now itself. after your baby comes, you will have to do lot of circus, sleepless nights, that time you wont know if you are having free time or not.

    Totally agree with shruti :thumbsup

Enjoy lots of time now dear... later it will be 24hour circus show as she mentioned...:spin

Being jobless and in different country i too was in same boat as you (initial 3 months only) .

Now time seems flying, have energy and cooks now, takes rest, browsing, some sort of cleaning and all, shower, that's it. By that time dh will be home.

    Congratulations dear,

I agree with few of the replies above, you can do some creative stuff, as i used to enjoy arts and crafts, i decorated few posters with pearl, made few sweaters, use to surf net and read various parenting websites, play sudoku on yahoo sometimes (its very interesting try it) video chat with my friends and relatives as even i stay abroad, read various spiritual books, evening walk, one of the best benefits of staying in Foreign countries is that there are plenty of beautiful malls, so try visiting those whenever possible, do window shopping etc.

Try and pamper yourself, Like you most of the women staying abroad feel lonely and home sick during pregnancy, i felt the same as my DH is a chef and he used to work for almost 14-15 hours, but i realized we only have to take care of ourselves and most important our baby. So be happy and take good care of yourself :)

Once 3 months r completed the smell and vomiting problem will get resolved, so till then take rest and later enjoy cooking different dishes for yourself and DH. Cherish each and every moment.

Its a wonderful feeling and a blessing for a Women.

ALl the Best and Do take care :)

    hi All,

Thank you for the sweet replies.Bow
Loved all the ideas. Will definitely implement it.
I moved into new apartment. It has library, a pool, jacuzzi.
Of course pool and jacuzzi are off limits.
But a stroll to see the kids play in pool will be good.
I got some friends from India.
From 2 days time was flying.I realized why I was low.
Cause I was in basement in an area where no Indian were there.
So no company how much ever TV and net it made me get bored.
Just started with cooking videos and craft videos.
Thanks a ton.All you ladies replies....made me feel that I am so much cared for thank you.
