    Dear VJB,

There are a lot of beads,
Glass beads - plain, lamp work, frosted, lines, fancy, crackledetc are used for jewelries. They should be handled

    with care
Gemstone beads - a lot of varieties available. they are costly also, but these are the elegant beads for making traditional jewelries.

Acrylic beads - made of plastic
Metal beads - available in gold, silver, copper, bronze color. These are available in oxidized shades. But you must select good quality, lead free metal beads. Acrylic beads are also available in metal shades.

Spacers- Different types of spacers available to place in between the colored beads.
Clay beads - available as terracotta clay beads, polymer clay, Fimo clay and many other types.
Shell beads - made ut of sea shells and sea products
Wooden beads - made of wood- different color and shape available
Nut beads - made of nuts
Soap stone beads - made of a special stone
Crystals - glass crystals and swarovski crystals. The second one is expensive

    Thanks
    Aswathy

Hi Vijaya, you also have beads made out of Camel Bone and Yak Bones.
You have these gem stone beads also called as precious and semi precious beads like Jade, Coral, Sandstone and a lot more.
There are cheap quality plastic beads too available in the market that are mostly used for door hangings etc.
Now Quilled beads and Paper beads are the in thing.
