    Hi Shanvy,
Thanks for all the info about nebulizer / aerochamber / Spacehaler. My little one is lot better with two sittings of nebulizer therapy. The PD said it is just a mild chest infection. You must be knowing how the weather is bad here in Chennai. It is raining in the winter season. Just this chill weather makes her prone to infections a lot.
Thanks again for your wishes to my angel.

    Dear Laxmi,

Hope your daughter gets well soon...

When I saw this thread, it reminded me of the olden days when me & shan used to run in the late night to hospitals carrying DS for nebulisation... He will scream and cry when the mask is fixed... It gives me jitters even today when I look back..

I can absolutely understand your feelings.... As long as she is happy and keep playing it is ok...

You can also try the simple home medicine... Apllying champhor oil... (Camphor & coconut oil mixed..) in her chest and back... It will reduce the chest congestion and help her in smooth breathing....

    Will pray for your angel...

    Laxmi,

My hugs and kisses to Aditi for being so brave to take the new kind of treatment so well and easy. She is a brave girl, I know!

It is we parents getting tensed when we see our li'l one's suffer and get worried. Now that so many IL'ites have given you the confidennce about this nebulizer treatment, I can see you are feeling better.

Oh..my, when I heard you telling Jey that Aditi is down with fever, I never thought it went to this level to get such treatment. Take good care of her, rest can be done later.

    Malathy

    dear ladies

After moving to saudi lot of congestion for my younger son who was 3 years old.

i was literally crying whenever we used to give nebulizer to him. shall i tell u some thing. as we won't be able to go to hospital everytime (ie 3 times a day) we had bought a nebulizer on our own (ard. 360 riyals) and keeping it on my own to him. i feel that instead of suffering from suffocation let him undergo this medication.

y.day we had visited the pd. and he infmd us tht we can start using puff as he has become little big now 5 and half years......

but after using the medicines ie ventolin-0.5 ml.i feel like he has become an over-active boy with nerves not under his control.

    uma.

    Kuttimayil,

Would suggest showing your son to a paediatric-pulmonologist, when you are in chennai. According to my cardiologist, certain asthmatic drugs affect the heart in the long run. and ventolin is one of them. ( Kindly consult your doctor..and ask him for a new generation medicine...... you get salmeterol compositions...which are better than salbutamol..) though i say this...your doctor is the best judge...

This is only a word of caution and not to scare you. hope you don't mind my sharing this with you.
