    Hi ladies,

I am in real tension. Hope you guys can help me.
I am 25 years old married for 2 years now. For last two months i've been on TTC, but no results. I am not much worried about that because i know 2 months of trying is nothing, i am waiting patiently. Now my problem. I've severe lower back pain before and after my periods. This started soon after my marriage. still continuing. The pain is kind of stabbing pain in my lower back where my butt starts. At a time it just lasts for few seconds and goes off. but comes on and off. Can't say when it pains. Sometime in the middle of road while walking. soon i will have to grab something. otherwise i wont be able to stand. Most of the time i have to bend forward because of the excruciating pain. i often have severe or unbearable lower abdominal cramps during periods. about my periods I used have around 5-6 days of bleeding in intial days of my puberty. Then it started reducing and now its just 2 days per cycle. I have regular 30 days cycle. I have not missed a single period.

I consulted some doctors they all say its sciatica. But i am sure its not. I dont have any pain on my legs or in my lumbar area. The pain is entirely concentrated on my lower back where butt starts and starts 5-6 days before periods and lasts 5-6 days after periods. Recently i read some threads regarding endometriosis. Is this the symptoms of endometriosis? I was not much worried about the pain early. But its getting worser and worser every month. I am in my mid cycle now. I have really heavy feeling in my abdomen and pain and light swelling towards the right side of abdomen. Really worried ladies. The pain has become so severe now. I would rate my pain 9/10. so u know the severity.
what can this be? Will this be endometriosis. I soon have and appointment with my GP and a smear test scheduled. Shall i suggest her to check for endometriosis? Is there any test for the condition?

    Anu,

I wont be able to help much but i would suggest to consult good gynae immediately and you can ask her to test for endometriosis as well.

    Hope you get relief soon.

The problem with most of the doctors in India is that they assume things. And since we are not convinced with them we end up spending time on internet and read some scary stuff. In my opinion, you need to get a recommendation and consult a good doctor. He/she will be able to diagnos the problem after doing some tests and give you proper medical advice. When you go to your GP, do mention that you have read about endometriosis and could it be that, s/he will be the best judge to tell you to go for tests or not. Make sure you find a good doc. That's the best you can do from your end.

If the pain is only during periods, then it can be normal since all our bodies are different. In my case, I would get severe knee pain and thats when I would know that my periods are approaching. The pain would last for the first two days.

As you've mentioned that you are in mid-cycle, there is quite a possibility that you are ovulating and at the same time conceiving. It happened with me when I conceived, when I was ovulating, I had so much pain, I could not sleep and that's when I had this strong feeling that I may have conceived and I actually did.

Best of luck! I hope its good news :)

    Thanks Simplicity11 for the reply.

I am not staying in india. Im in UK. Since medical treatment at are all free here its really dificult to get an appointment with specialist or gynaec. Anyways i have booked my appointment with a general practicioner next week. waiting for that. The pain is sometimes unbearable. Thats why i am worried. I too hope its a good news!!!

Ohh I saw your location as Hyderabad so I assumed you are in India. I know getting an appointment with a gynaec takes a while but if you take my word, you should still consult a gynaec and not a GP even if its a one month wait. It's worth it. I recommend you fix an appointment with your gynaec as well as consult your GP. If you feel satisfied with GP's treatment, you can always cancel your appointment with the gynaec later. That way you will get some heads up time.

Do update us how does it go. You can try taking a home pregnancy test a couple of days before your expected monthly menstrual date to check. If it comes positive, you can tell the same to your GP and she/he will take a blood test to confirm. Good luck!!
