Navratri Golu Decorations - Ideas and Tips

Hi friends,

Where exactly can I find kolu bommais in and around Mylapore with varieties? Also, pls suggest ne a good gift articles shops other than giri trading agency. Heard that there are bommais coming with light, is it??

Thanks Bhooma..anywhere in the sense, even near the temple or tank becoz, asking my parents to check for the same. Dont want to roam around as they are pretty old. pls confirm..

I had my periods when navarathri started ,i dont know anything about keeping the golu as it was not a ritual at my place,but in my in laws place they do celebrate but now they have stopped
i was thinking to start but it is already 4 days now .
Can i start the ritual in middle and what are the procedure if we can..?

My parents went to mylapore last friday and they said that they could find only sets like ashtalakshmi, dasavatharam etc., and there was not any single piece types of bommai!!! I was really surprised or we went late?? Should we go before the kolu starts to find out bommais to get single pieces??

Are we allowed to keep Narasimha avatar without lakshmi in Dasavatar set in Golu ? It's told that we should always keep narasimha/hayagrivar with lakshmi and worship. Please clarify.

I live in NJ. can anyone tell me, whether i can keep golu in basement?? bec i dont have enough space for golu in ground level.

yes why not? every time you have to go down to do the neivedhyam pooja and if you are ready for that sure you can keep the kolu there.
