    Hi all,
    pls find attached the photos of my Golu.


    My Golu Theme-Unity in Divinity-One BHAKTHI for various GODs.
    5 steps depicting various forms of Divine power and how bhakthi brings one closer to Mukthi
    1st step depicts the forms of Lord Krishna from birth when Vasudev carries the just born Krishna across the ocean (doll on the extreme left): here bhakthi takes form as Love
    2nd step represents the various forms or roopams of Goddess Devi-Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Andal, Meenakshi, Annapoorani, Lord Mahalakshmi.
    3rd step depicts the different avatars of Lord Vishnu commonly known as Dasavatharam
    4th Step shows the various darshan roopams of Gods while the last step illustrates the different forms of Art such as sculpting, music, dance, pottery, etc. of which Bhakthi is represented as a form of art.
    The add-ons (park) highlights are
    1. Disneyland-Mickey”s toontown, Soundsational parade (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald), Winnie the pooh adventure land, Alice in wonderland . This is an attempt to depict the real Disneyland at USA
    2. The story of divine mango –fight between Lord Ganesha and Lord Muruga at the Kailash parbath and the significance of Pazhani-one of the padai veedu of Lord Muruga.

    The various artwork created by me (mixed art work, Mural painting, pencil shading, Glass painting etc.)are on display on each of the step
    The traditional vilakku has been decorated as the Goddess here with saree, ornaments, mugam and kunjalam
    Rangoli and water lotus are on display before the Golu dolls.

    The navadhanyam have been spread before the Chettiyar set.

    navarathri kolu contest

    This is aarthianirath. i would like to share my golu experience with u. we had a different golu this time named as "thripura sundara navarathri" which means three side golu. we had a traditional golu, park thepa kolam on one side,thematic gholu on one side and handmade paper
    dolls and handmade furniture on other side.the theme is sree stuthi(swarnadhaara)and was composed by vaishnava guru "sri vedanta desikan". the story is as follows
    One day a poor Brahmachari told his problem to desikar for not getting a suitable bride because of his poverty. The most compassionate VedAnthAchAryan took the Brahmachari to the Sannidhi of sridevi thaayar and composed a sthuthi to recieve her anugraham for the Brahmachaari. At the conclusion sridevi thaayar poured a rain of gold coins in front of Swamy Desikan for his deep devotion. The Brahmachaari collected the coins, offered his vandhanams to Swamy Desikan and sridevi thaayar and found a suitable bride to enter grahasthaasramam.

    WOW!! amazing to see all the golu entries.

    Sowmya - fantastic. nice theme u selected. u have taken efforts like the video slide show. the display is very attractive. the koil entrance is very divine.

    Sruthi - very nice golu. i took ur sundal & payasam. thanks.

    Sriash - the goddess face is very divine and great work.

    Srividya - Disney land theme is very nice and u have displayed the dolls neatly.

    DEAR VNKT, no words to express ur effort. very neat display. I like the KOSALAI, angadi theru, pani malai along with ur sweet and short comments. all the very best for the contest. May the goddess shower her blessings on u and ur kid.

    Spotsudha - great work. with 2 year old kid, it is very difficult to keep the golu. u have simple and neat golu.

    Deepa - festivals of TN is a nice theme and ur display is very nice.

    Sandhya - i like the kuberar and the park work.

    All the best for the contest. Really viewing ur golu is the feast to our eyes. fantastic job.
