Navarathri - Meaning & Objectives Navarathri Blessings For Nine Consecutive evenings The Goddess fought defeated one of the demons each night. FIRST night she quelled Kama, the demon of LustOn. SECOND night she extinguished Krodha, the demon of Anger. THIRD night, She dispelled the demon of Attraction, Moha. FOURTH night, She shattered Lobha, the demon of Greed. FIFTH night She came face to face with the demon Mada, and TRIUMPHED Hubris. SIXTH night She confronted the swirling demon of Jealousy - Matsara and sent it smithreens. Then with her effulgence countenance of smile radiating the energy of Beauty, She went forward and bludgeoned the grotesque face of Swartha, the demon of selfishness. On dusk of day eight, she had eliminated demon Anyaya - injustice. On the dusk of nineth, only with Her benevolence She had banished Amanavata, the dreadful demon of Cruelty. Then on the following morning, She was about to rest when She realised that her most difficult opponent was upon Her. She switched Her posture to Lotus squat, laid down all her weapons aside. A face of aplomb & a streak of smile, She dissolved the last but not the least of all demons - Ahankara, Her ego. Navratri has begun to remind you of eliminating or and banishing all those demons.
