    Hello,

I am in early 30's and am not married (yet).

In the meantime, I would like to promote and maintain my fertility.

My grandmother had her last child (natural way) when she was in her 40's. My mother had me (nantural way) when she was in her mid-30s.

However, when my doctor performed blood test for Estradiol several years ago (when I was in mid-20s), it was slightly below normal. In other words, no one is sure whether I can have children or not, it is 50/50.

Can you advise the appropriate diet, and exercise to promote and maintain fertility? Below is my daily diet and exercise. Also, I am not overweight (not pencil thin, but I shop for lot of my clothes in petite, or junior section of the department store)

    Pre-breakfast

    10 to 16oz water

    Breakfast

    Fruits
Tea with 1% milk, ginseng, honey, pinch of mint, pinch of cinnamon
Juice with Centrum Multivitamin, Fish Oil (1000mg), Biotin (1000mcg)

    Mid-morning

    Almonds

    Lunch

Starbucks coffee, 30% of it is half-and-half, ZERO sugar (in a Grande cup)

    Mid-afternoon

    Snack, such as peanuts, popcorn
10 to 16oz water with Fish Oil (1000mg), Biotin (1000mcg)

    Late-afternoon

Hot-cocoa with 1% milk, 100% pure cocoa, honey, pinch of mint, pinch of cinnamon

    Dinner

    Meat
    Vegetables
10 to 16oz water with Fish Oil (1000mg), Biotin (1000mcg)

    After-Dinner

    Hot-cocoa (same as late-afternoon)

    Before bed, on empty stomach

    Synthroid, .75mg

Before bed, after turning off electronics

Stretching, aerobic exercises (about 20 min)

Well, my metabolism is really slow (I was an overweight kid), and most of the foods I eat are calorie-dense (like nuts). Total calorie intake per day is about 1500 calories, and I barely exercise (20 minutes of aerobics, plus walking around here and there to do chores)

However, I am trying to cut back on caffeine (i.e. the day I have Starbucks, no cocoa tsk), and other foods that seem to put my on edge. I've noticed that after eating dinner (and adding too much garlic achar, mint chutney, and balsamic vinegar), I start to get anxious.

Also, yesterday I have begun to take Turmeric Milk before I sleep. Bitter stuff!!!!! Guess I'll have to take less Turmeric powder and more Honey. :coffee

I guess when I am married, and decide it's time to have kids, I'll go to dietician for guidance.

Ha ha zipzipzoomzoom, i think you are thinking too much. And moreover, I don't find anything harmful in your diet.
So please don't worry much and everything will happen normal and good.Believe in God, He will take care of us.

    My feedback is

    1. There is no diary products in your diet
    2. There is no vegetables, carbohydrates or protein
    3. Having a coffee for Lunch is suppressing your appetite. Have a proper balanced diet, with proper carbs(from whole grains), proteins, veggies and diary products for lunch.

You are taking multi vitamins, remember multi vitamins will work like magic only we take a balanced diet.

Is there any reason why you are taking Thyroid medication in the night? It will work better if taken in empty stomach in the morning.

Please note that having a balanced diet and exercise will help you maintain a healthy life.
I have no idea if fertility can be boosted by any food, but maintaining a healthy life style will help lifetime.

    z4,

Radha is right. a healthy well balanced diet is a must. a calorie balance diet does not mean a healthy diet always. you can have a 2000cal chocolate or a full 3 meals with a 2000 cal balanced healthily. so it is matter of choice.

many of us have not planned our eating patterns before marriage or even after marriage and are still feeling the effects of that..on that count i appreciate your effort.

I would suggest going to a dietician now to have the balance from now..once you are on the right track and are following it religiously it becomes a habit of a life time and not just for the sake of conceiving and having a child, you can play with your child and be real active all through your life enjoying yourself..

Wow, thank you all for your replies

@hemalathaK: You're right, sometimes I think too too much. Have to remind myself to trust in God

@radhaparth2000: Well, the dairy is with the tea and coffee, but your right, I need to increase the amount in general. And dinner is pure vegetables, a big salad, along with few ounces of meat (they say about the size of a lady's fist is the serving size you need for those B-vitamins)

@Shanvy: ok, will see Dietician really soon

I would also suggest to check with a doctor reg taking fish oil and biotin supplements thrice a day if you are taking them on your own.
