My Mother departs...

Loss of a parent is difficult in any age. May you find the strength to bear the loss.

A saga has come to an end.
I wonder how ominous it was that I wrote
Who will cry when I die? - IndusLadies
it was a heart-wringing sight to see a 67 year old man weeping uncontrollably when his 96 year old mother died.
I saw that however much one imagines, he or she is in control of emotions, death of one's mother is like one losing a limb, a part of oneself. It was good that you were not a hypocrite, trying to control your spontaneous flow of tears.
She was a rare breed, who never had a bad word about anybody, no complaint, no ill will. She had nothing but love & good will to share with others.
Though I knew her only for about 30 months, her memory will be a treasure to me - death cannot end a loving relationship.
Right now, I have no words to offer you as solace.
Although it is tough to look beyond the sorrow, looking back in memory will comfort you in the days to come.
This photo was taken by me, 2 yrs back, in your house. Who ever imagined that I will be posting it for her obituary?

did know she was not well from Chithmam, but what you have written here makes me really heavy in the heart. Did not meet her and now I feel I have lost the chance of seeing a great human being.

After hearing so much about her from both you and your wife, i can understand the void you must be feeling but no words of mine is going to bring you any solace.

It was very moving to read your post. Losing your mother is an irreparable loss. Time alone can heal the pain. One consolation is she has lived her life fully upto 96 years and her memories will always linger in your heart. May her soul rest in peace.
