    Hi

    Need your help ladies.
My son is 7 months old(completed) and he's nt crawling.
But he climbs upon whomever holds him and stands firmly for seconds.

Even if i place toys few distance apart, he just rolls or uses his head down to move a little to reach the toy. He holds (and bites too) any object.
When my MIL tries to make him sit with pillows kept on both sides, he sits for few seconds and leans by side.

Otherwise, he's active and busy always rolling all over the bed/room.

Please tell me if it's normal he's not crawling?

each kid is different and develops at his/her own pace. so if your ped. is happy then don't worry. my son crawled only at 10.5 months, another friend's son never crawled, just stood up and walked at 11 months. and they are both pretty normal.

    Mahi,

My DD crawled after seven months. Like P mentioned each kid is different, do not do anything out of force, some even skip the crawling I was told. Just enjoy with the day today activities.

    Hi

I am feeding him with my milk when we wakes early in the morning(5.30 or 6).
Then idli for breakfast at 8.30 and will leave to work.
My MIL will then prepare and give milk(powdered) in between lunch.
Lunch - rice with smashed vegetables.
Later Veg soup or smashed apple/banana (this is wat she's not allowing considering the cold weather) .
Then again milk before dinner and then idli for dinner.
If needed, i'll feed him late night.
I use to replace breakfast or soup with ragi(have to struggle for this)

Mostly am providing on demand feeding for him right from his birth.
Am i doing it in the right way???

mahi the diet sounds good given that he is just 7 months old. even my mom used to not want me to give fruits to my kid unless it was at breakfast time for the same reason - cold weather.

this is what I do for my son - peel and boil an apple, smash it, mix it with butter and cereal. this way it is "cooked" food, so the cold factor does not come in.

moms and mil's have their own way of thinking, we cannot change it, so best is to work around their thinking or develop a thick skin and do whatever you want ;-)

you can tell your MIL that ragi is a good source of iron and that doc has said he must get it atleast 2 times per week. plus the kid needs variety too in his diet. work it in bit by bit, not all at once, and hopefully she will be more amenable to the changes.

Mahi I agree with Pmahensa. Another way of telling is paed has asked to do so.

Also just a small suggestion, you can leave the skin on in apple as it contains most of the vitamins, boil and mash as pmahensa mentioned.
