My heart is heavy

I grieve for an enemy
Who seeks fulfillment outside herself

Who seeks fulfillment from those who mistreated her
Who seeks fulfillment from those who mistreated her

My heart is heavy for an enemy
Who sided with her daughter's abusive husband
Who helped cause her daughter's miscarriage
Who helped further destroy her daughter's marriage

My heart is heavy

For an enemy who thinks she's surrounded by friends
But they only want to use her as a means to their end

My heart is heavy for an enemy
Who was mistreated as a child

And is now sharing with those people gifts and favors

My heart is heavy for this enemy who simply doesn't know any better
Or simply does not want to face the facts and move on with life
And try to search for joy and fulfillment from within

My heart is heavy
Thinking about the depth of cruelty we are all capable of

My heart is heavy
