Searched web for passion flower container plants and found this site perticularly interesting Passiflora incense Serratifolia Pura Vita
since there are quite a number of passiflora species. Specially loved the incense, lavender lady , pura vita, Blue crown.

Alivelu looks like yours is the blue crown. They are ideally suited for container trellises and bloom from spring thru summer.

Tulasi, thanks for your fb, though i was asking for passion flower information not brahma kamalam... good to know that it multiplies vegetatively.

Alivelu what is the passion flower called in telugu? (since i remember our nickname for it kaurava pandava flower)

    interesting Note on this flower:

Prized for its unusual flower structure as well as its vigorous growth, the passion flower takes its name from religious symbolism. According to the Sunset Northeastern Garden Book, "Flower parts can be seen to symbolize elements of the passion of Christ...the lacy crown represents a halo or crown of thorns; the five stamens, the five wounds; the ten petal-like parts, the ten faithful apostles."

The pictures look v.good. I liked the deep color purple-pink satin like interior. it offsets the whiteness of flower i think. I was searching thru earlier posts to see if you had mentioned the name of flower dont know if you did. Thanks again for sharing.

    hi blondie,

Nice pictures in the dusk. What are the flowers name? the first one looks very nice with dark pink center. I am suprised you did not mention the names since, you usually are informative. I even clicked on the pictures to see the name but not able to see any name.

    Hi madhu,

The first one is the regular white hibiscus flower. the second one even i don't know the name of the plant/ flower. After reading Alivelu's post about Brahma Kamalam and the description of the flower in its full bloom beauty, I went for a stroll in my yard and observed how luminiscent all of the flowers looked in the dusk. So just captured a couple and posted them right away from the camera itself (you can do that upload directly from digital camera, just pick the thumb drive when you hit browse to get path) with out first saving them on my pc. So thats why there were no names.
