    Thank you very much Shanthi. You know actually DH wasn't happy about the idea of taking Aniish to the toy shop and letting him choose. I can very well understand his feelings because we both didn't grow up with such luxury. For both of us birthday presents meant a 'colour' dress or something indispensible for school like crayons etc., After certain age for me it was a gold ear-ring or such that would be part of my dowry later....

    But glad that we got LO to choose by himself. i told him to first have a look and decide on 3 toys. He readily accepted when we said something was beyond our budget. I hope it stays like this every year:)

    Next time I'll remember to buy for his sister too...

    Thank you for your wishes, dear Latha, Vanathi, Payal, Janani, Asha, Rani... your wishes all promptly conveyed:). He had a lovely party at school too. His teacher baked a 'heart' cake with strawberry jam (that was the description) and they had made a nice crown for him. And all moms on seeing the crown wished him as well. I found, to my relief, that not everyone has a party at home for birthdays!!! (another guilt-factor shed today)

    Dear Raj,

    Tears well in my eyes as I read your wishes. Whenever i sit calmly and think about my boy i feel i'm being too rough on him (well we have heard this tale too often!!). Well all in the name of motherhood (parenthood oops..)...
