    The Instrument Kora is made from a large pumpkin shell (sound box) and has 21 strings. It is played by both hands. The hands are anchored to two wood pegs, the the strings are strummed with just each thumb. Sort of like playing a smartphone game. Kora (an instrument with origins in Mali) is often heard at the Timbuktu music festivals in Mali.

    Here is a fusion concert: Tabla is obviously under employed in this work.

    I am particularly taken with the blues. Nothing to do with my personal mood or life. But the way "the Blues" can lend themselves to individual interpretations makes them a special genre of Jazz. Perhaps it is my country's "Carnatic Music"... a music that allows for solo interpretations of the raaga.
