Muscat--Finding Indian food products

did u check with the khimjis mart and lulu in darsait.and there is a north indian store in ruwi,i forgot its name.u can search for that store.

 

haridas nansey (pashni) is the best bet. i have not seen foxtail in lulu. you get brown basmati in the rice area under dawat brand and another brand i think it is tilda.the matta rice should be found in the rice section close to the idli rice. both are good. you also get bulghur, and many other varieties of wheat. both in lulu and km. matta should be easily found in al-khuwair or ruwi.

Brown rice can be easily found in Darsit Lulu... U can get palakadan matti rice...

We buy that only....

resident permit. my dh works there..

khalijana was a indian store run by bahwans.. near to venus restaurant. not there for the past 4/5 years. i am familiar with muscat from 2000.

there used to be a sultan stores, al-jadeed markets..pre-lulu .

 

hey thanks shanvy.i forgot the name.bcas we refer that shop with a diffrent name.thiruttu kadai.bcas he sells many indian goods,which are not available in other places, we feel he brings them illegally gigglingsmiley so the name

 

i know pashni.. there used to be another one near the shell roundabout at al-khuwair. come indian festivals we used to flock there..

and what about the flowers person..now it is openly sold in packets.. earlier you go to krishna temple contact that lady/guy tell them you need so much flowers and even banana tree for varalakshmi vrat.

btw there used to be so many flowering trees..jasmine was in abundance around sultan qaboos mosque and even near the embassy round about and also at many other roundabouts.. and that small park on qurum heights..i don't find them now... muscat has evolved a lot...
