Yes, I agree with you. Beaches have always been a source of attraction for tourists. But with lots of litter and noise around, the joys of spending an evening on the beach are reducing.
Beaches not only in Mumbai, but in most parts of coastal India are not "unspoilt" anymore.
I do hope that our people realise the importance of keeping India's beaches clean.

yes,i agree the beaches are getting polluted as something that really makes me feel pity are the broken ganesha idols what we see after the ganesh visarjan....tourist who come to enjoy the festival and take a new experience of ganesh chaturthi takes away a negative impact after seeing the beaches after ganesh visarjan.....

Yes Lauren, very right obseravtion. Ganesh Chaturthi Festival is a time when everybody actually cleans up their homes and surroundings to welcome Ganeshji. But sadly, after that, the litter and all other visarjan items are left stranded on the beach shores and river banks. Care must be taken not to dirty public places. Atleast the concerned Ganesh Mandals can clear their own bit of litter. It is not only for the tourists but also for our own environment and natural resources. Glad you brought up this point....

    Hi Dalbir,

Coming to your post so true. Leave international tourists, even locals can't enjoy the beaches. There's rarely any beach in Mumbai where you would really happily want to go with family specially kids. Its more health concern than fun. I would rather go to some mall or garden because of that.
Parts of Ganesh idols float around and are lying all over the beaches for days. The dirt and other wastes around them. Its so difficult to see the lord whom people pray with such devotion for 11 days and then throw in the sea full of pollution and dirt. People should really start using the Visarjan Ponds created by corporation at least for the love of God.

I think you should be a part of a political family where you can discuss such issues. Bcoz as you know today's politicians wont think abt all this. Bcoz 1st they think how much money is going to go in their pockets and unless and until from the top level to the bottom level if every1's pockets are not full then they wont think abt it. Then whichever money is left and usse jitna beach saaf ho sakta hai who karenge ye log or dikhayenge bada kaam kiya.
