Mumbai Mere Jaan.

It was raining heavily outside. Shalu along with her parents arrived at Dadar Station.She is new to this city Her Father got his promotional transfer.Only few of her distant relatives are there in and around Mumbai.

She can`t communicate with anyone since she don`t know to speak Hindi .Luckily her friends all advised her that in Mumbai you can manage everything with English .That` s what happened for her .Straight from the station she has to go to her mama`s house in kandivili. One room kitchen .Never used to this life before .After two days her Dad got his office accommodation in Navi Mumbai. Her Mama`s son helped them in settling down in their place .Then starts their routine .Her Dad goes to office around 9.30am and comes back at 10.00pm .She and her mother has to manage the whole show. The joke is they both don`t know Hindi .She wants to work but don`t know how to start. Nobody to guide her .She started searching for vacancies in a local newspaper note down their number and call them .Everybody ask her to come and meet them for a personal interview .For that She has to go to places like Anderi , Thane ,Fort, etc. But she don`t know how to go to such places especially in trains .On Sunday she went with her Dad to explore all the places and got scared after seeing the crowded trains and the noise they make when they see the train.

She called her old friend Vani who lived in Mumbai, now settled down in Kerala .Vani encouraged her.She said whoever comes to Mumbai will live happily since its the place where Goddess Mahalakshmi lives.She asked her to stop searching for jobs and advised her to start some business of her own but she also insist her to learn to talk little bit Hindi. Now Shalu got the confidence and started interacting with all the bhajiwalas,shopkeeper and within two months she started talking Hindi.
This is the time to decide what work she needs to do .Her parents said there is no need for her to work but shalu wants to do something so that she can help her dad to manage the expenses.Her mother gave her a idea of starting a boutique since they both know stitching .Her dad gave his consent and they took a shop for rent and purchased two machines and started their work .Slowly she started getting new customers and within two months they become very busy in their work. In the evenings she used to teach drawing for the kids at their home and also earn a side income. Life is very interesting for shalu and now she is a owner of that boutique and also a Maruti Esteem .Now her parents started searching a nice boy for her. Shalu`s only condition is the boy should be based in Mumbai b`coz she said`` Mumbai mere jaan ‘’i can`t leave this place. That`s life!
Life has ups and downs .We need a brave heart to break the obstacles.
