Dear IL'ites, We have some great news! We have been getting consistent feedback from our members that as our community grew, the forum organization has become complex and intimidating. We did a full review of our forums to understand the most popular forums, the least useful forums and also the ones that were causing confusion due to overlaps. We worked hand-in-hand with the moderator of every forum to understand what is working and what is not working in their forums. As an outcome of that exercise, we are launching a much more simplified and organized forum structure. To begin with, our entire forum, will contain 4 main sections - Community Central - Just for Fun - Topical Forums - Neighborhoods And our topical forums section will be organized into just 9 key forums: - Beauty & Fashion - Health - Parenting & Pregnancy - Relationships - Entertainment - Food - Culture - Crafts - Lifestyle We deleted forums that were less useful. We merged forums that were logically together. We separated forums that were distinct and large. We hope you like the result. A big thanks to the entire moderator team as they have been deeply involved in this exercise and provided invaluable input that made the outcome so much better. I have attached a couple of screenshots. The first one (New Forum Structure.jpg) shows the new forum structure. The second one (Old to New Mapping.jpg) gives a view of the existing forum structure and provides help on where you can find them in the new structure. To view these properly, download these pictures to your computer and open them. If you have any suggestions, feedback or input, please provide them below. Myself and the entire moderator team will be watching this thread very closely and we will attempt to answer every one of them. Loved the organisation of Food and Culture forums.Neatly packed covering all the topics. Just my two cents: 1.Missing Bridal tips sub forum in the new look.Clubbed under cosmetics and make up or moved out to? social group? 2.As it hold almost all the hobby features,need a better tittle for "Craft" forum,like Hobby Center,Hobby Corner,Art and Craft Corner,etc., Will come out if any more promptings hits me. Looking forward to an organized look & feel I would also go with Yashikushi for renaming Crafts to something close to Hobby Corner or Art & Craft Corner, as it includes almost all of the creative stuff.... And I would also like to know whether the new features presented for voting will also be a part of these changes ?
It looks more organised and user friendly;liked that Neighborhoods section has been moved downwards. A humble suggestion,I feel that Culture and Religion are two different things.So I think naming Culture would not the best title to Share and discuss about God,Religion or different scriptures.Just my personal thought. Looking forward to welcome the New look.
The new look is more organized and user friendly. I couldn't find the Due date clubs sub forum in the Pregnancy & Parenting forum. Let us know whether it has been moved to any sub forums..
