Moving To Sunnyvale

Hi Friends,
I am presently in new delhi and will be moving to sunnyvale, CA next month. I will be coming there with my husband and my son who will be going to grade 2.
Some of our friends suggested that we should take apartment in coppertino and not sunnyvale as schools are not nice in sunnyvale, is it true as my husband's office will be in sunnyvale.
Can you please suggest some good elementary schools in sunnyvale and also some good apartments may be a 1.5 03 2 bedroom with 1.5 bathrooms within 2500 pm in safe locality where indians are there. we would also require a washing machine within the apt.
Please suggest, your guidance is appreciated.
