Moving to San Diego soon

Hi,

We currently live in Minnesota, been here for almost 5 years. My husband recently got a job offer in San Diego. Company is based in University City. We are planning to move there in June. We have a five year old kindergartner son. We are planning to rent initially for soem time. Please suggest some good apartments in a safe area with their pros and cons. We prefer a 2 bed 2 bath with w/d and with reasonable rent. Thanks!

@kk2013: Your rent plays a important role when you choose apartment. You need to look in for a good community too.
Major communities has loads of Indian population are
Miramesa - This is 80 % occupied by only Asians - Chinese , Indians, and other groups. Its almost a feel of being in India.
This is followed by Scripps Ranch, Rancho Bernado , Rancho Penasquitos , poway and La jolla.
Poway has a wonderful school district, that the reason Indians who have middle school age children try to move to, making the real estate really shoot up with very high mortgage prices. schools will come under Poway Unified school district including some in Rancho Bernado/ Penasquitos.
Scripps ranch , Lajolla are very porch too. Make a budget before searching home. A 1 BD/BA starts from $1500 - 1600.
Mira mesa is like a mixed community. The schools will be under San Diego Unified district. you can get 2 BD/2 BA from $1450 - 1600. Indian stores, temples and Indian restaurants are almost a mile drive.

Hope that gives you an idea of the rent in the above areas with large Indian community.

We will be there soon. We have made list of Apts in University city near an elementry school and will finalize one after having a tour. Which area do you live in?
