    Hi Ladies,

my name is sashi and currently living in Zurich, Switzerland with family of 2 kids.

We will be relocating to KL in April due to my husband´s job.

One of my friend suggested that Bangsar is a good place to live. We will be placing our kids in GIIS in Brickfield. So we r confused whether to look for a house in Brickfield or Bangsar.

but many people here suggest Bangsar as a good place, as they say that Brickfield is very crowded.

Any suggestions pls.. and anyone from Bangsar area?

I am very much interested to get to know people there.

    Thanks,
    Sashi:hiya

    Hi,

I have been to KL last year for 3 months, and i should say brickfields is a good place for us(Indians)...its not crowded much, but yeah compared to Zurich it will be crowded, there are lot of indian population in that area. It has got good apartments too. If you are planning to take a house in Bangsar and the childrens school in Brickfields, please take into account the commute options and time too.

thanks a lot Bujji..that info really helps.

ya we were thinking about the distance but not clear how far it is and hence not sure about the timings. is it more than 30 minutes? commute option would be by school bus but if it will take more than 30 mins, then it will be too much for the kids..

and happy to know that there will be lot of indians in brickfields:) bcoz we struggled here a lot to get indian friends for kids..as I am also working, cud not socialise much with the local neighbours and there is absolutely no Indian family with kids near my house..its very boring and frustrating for kids..

thats one main reason we decided to move out from here, as otherwise we were quite happy to be in swiss.

    cheers,
    sashi

    hi sashi..

the distance is very less.. say distance between bangsar village and brickfields is only around 3kms.. but however the traffic can be very bad.. and so cant predict the timings..

As you said, brickfields is almost like living in India.. and your children will make a whole lot of Indian friends if they go to GIIS, school in Brickfields..

Agreed that bangsar is nearby and posh, and a good locality.. brickfields can be a bit crowded too.. but its just similar to bangalore, mumbai or chennai.... may be you can get adjusted..

    Good luck to you
