Mother in-law is unfair and controlling. HELP

I think the best thing would be take each day as it comes and get busy with your day to day routine. If they are being good to you on the face and commenting behind your back, there is nothing much you can do to stop it because where is the proof that they said that? If you ask anything, it will be dismissed as your imagination only. It looks like your MIL is intimidated by you, either by your independence or by your importance to your husband.

There is nothing we can do to stop a person from commenting about us. The only thing we can do is not let it affect our life as long as we are correct and our conscience is clear. But only thing dont expect happy families with them anymore. Be diplomatic and leave it there.
