There is an interesting essay I chanced upon researching about LORD HANUMAN. Among DEVOUT Hindus, many recite Hanuman Chalisa to gain strength to fortify the mind to shed fear, derive courage while encountering Himalayan hurdles, obstacles and other seemingly insurmountable situations. Here in my own words is a part of that treasure I had read recently. Tulsidas ji wrote daily in piecemeal a part of Hanuman Chalisa, and before every night when sleep about to embrace him, he used to keep the draft of written lyrics underneath his mat. When he wakes up in the morning he looked for that written lyrics, but alas- he found only his writings disappeared and blank paper only remained in place. Tulsidas ji swung to serious thapas, meditating on Hanuman ji for a long time. Hanuman ji was pleased and gave apparition. Tulsidas at once lodged a complaint with the Lord Hanuman ji about his missing written lyrics of Chalisa that disappeared from the paper and wondered who could be causing lyrics disappearance. Ignoring Tulsidas’s complaint, Hanuman ji said, if at all you desire to write platitudes, then write of my only Lord Shri Ram, not of me. (At that was the moment, Tulsidas ji thought of the first couplet of Ayodhya incident, he mentally noted to write about it at the beginning of Hanuman Chalisa). "श्रीगुरुचरनसरोजरजनिजमनमुकुरुसुधारि। वरनउंरघुबरबिमलजसुजोदायकुफलचारि॥ So Hanuman ji further added, “ Oh My Dear Tulsidas - I am not Raghuvar”. Then Tulsidas said - you and Lord Shri Ram have incarnated by the effect of the same ambrosia; therefore you are also a Raghuvar.” Tulsidas reminisced for a while . His mind wound backwards to several janams before: It was at the back of his mind. Several yugas ago, there lived an voluptuous apsara named Suvarchala in the Brahman-universe. She was enamoured of Lord Brahma but Brahma was not favourably inclined. She enticed him but that got Brahma enraged leading to his cursing her that instantly transformed her into a vulture. Then she cried for cancelling the curse. But Brahma told her, that the ambrosia that will be distributed among the three queens in the Yajna of Dasaratha, “you will intrude and fly away with part of Kaikeyi's share. At the same time, Mother Anjana would be wishing for herself - a son. Keeping her hands outstretched to Lord Shiva, she would be beseeching the Lord for a son and into her palms you in the vulture-form would drop the ambrosia; and from that droplets of ambrosia a mighty speedster Hanuman would be incarnated”. Tulsidas mind returned to the present moment. He reminded Hanuman of a statement of Lord Shri. Ram who himself endearingly called him as his brother. ("तुमममप्रियभरतहिसमभाई) Tulsidas also recalled to Hanumanji His intense search at Ashok Vatika in the island nation Lankapuri Where he had met Maa Janakii & the latter proclaimed that Hanuman is her son. ("अजरअमरगुननिधिसुतहोहू। करहुंबहुतरघुनायकछोहू॥) Lord Shri Ram himself had made Hanuman as his son when he came back after searching for mother Janaki. "सुनुसुततोहिउरिनमैंनाहीं। देखेउंकरिविचारमनमाहीं॥ That's how Tulsidas convinced Hanuman that latter too - a Raghuvar. Afterer listening to these statements of Tulsidas, Hanumanji felt enlightened and bestowed him continue writing chalisa.
