India has best of both worlds.. Sometimes confused why we r still living in usa
when we get everything there.. Dh does not want to move for job reason..
still feeling jealous of people in India:)
anyone felt that way?wat factor keeps you still staying in usa which we cannot get in India ?

    Hi ReshmiRajan,

It seems you really love India

I feel exact opposite to what u feel. Before coming to US, I had no opinion about US, just followed my DH. after coming I loved US. Material things we can get in India, but I feel lot of flaws in the Indian society value system, as a woman, i find it difficult to live here than in US as an individual.
Highly male dominated, how many stares we get when we go outside, how uncomfortable. We are judged all the time, every move. work environment also better, less politics. Now a days we Indians in India becoming very materialistic I feel, sorry, if I offended any. The subject itself is complicated india vs usa.

The thing not in US for me is parents and close relatives.

    Hi,

Like every1 i had mixed feeling staying outside India..

When we ve a lot of benefits and nice stuff here, I feel there is something special in India which cannot be offered here..

But what disturbing is Indians outside India behave very strangely.. When Americans themselves say Hi and hello, I ve never seen any Indian even smiling at us.. This was confusing initially, annoying later and now am used to it.. :)

So any of u guys also experience same thing?? Any clues about why they behave like this?

I guess they might also be thinking we won't smile at them:)

I tried smiling first and people actually smiled back! Our Indian people here!
some are scared due to amway reasons.other than that, try smiling first and am sure 5 out of 10 people will reciprocate.

I am uncomfortable to talking to Indians here
..... one wanted to know what type of car I have, where do I live.
..... another one was very rude to me .... and she was an employee of where I was going to get some work done

It seems they are sizing you up to see what is THEIR advantage to talk to you. In India they act different but once they have GC or Citizenship it's a different story ....

Yes, I agree .... love and healing can come from India

Few things I like abt living in US:

    1. I have my independence which I had when I was unmarried, but would not have been possible if I was living with inlaws.
    2. I hate the male dominated Indian society, i dont have to worry abt that here.
    3. I love the variety of food here.
    4. Drving here is safe as opposed to India.
    5. I can get clean veggies from the mart, as opposed to buying it from how we buy in India
    6. I get chopped saag in Walmart :) :)
    7. I can diet well , its possible to do all kinds of diet here like Dukan diet and all, not possible in India
    8. People dont judge you
    9. Crime rate is less
    10. I have to dust once a week as there is hardly any dust here
    11. So much packaged food is here, if i dont get time to cook, I can resort to that
    12. There is wifi pretty much everywhere
    13. 4g !! :) :)
    14. My dandruff problem vanished after coming here, cz no dust !
    15. Wear what you want without any judgement !
    16. Love the taste of coffee here compared to in india

theres more, cnt think of it now !!
