Dear Sangita,

I know others have given you very valuable suggestions, but I would just like to chip in.

I had a m/c in 2007 at eight weeks. I had a blighted ovum wherein only the outer sac forms but there is no yolk (baby) inside. I had to have a D&C and it was really very upsetting for me just like the others. I fell pregnant again immediately (I waited for three months and then started ttc). You have had it twice and I can understand what you are going through right now.

I dont know how much your tests cost but sometimes maybe nothing is wrong with you and just that the timing was not right. Also, I am well aware that taking progesterone CANNOT STOP you from having a miscarriage if you are going to have one anyways. I dont know why the doctor advised you that if you would have taken progesterone you would not have had a miscarriage.

Lots of things play a role in miscarriages - hormones, timing, sperm quality, and sometimes it is the body's natural mechanism to get rid of the baby if something was not right eg genetics.

I know that you are reallly upset but seriously consider giving yourself some more time before you can go into any fertility treatment.

Riya, Thanks a lot for your convincing reply. I'm also hoping theres nothing wrong in me and its just our time to have 2 mc's..

I'm not sure about the progesterone.. But thatswhat my dr said but he also said progesterone could be low because I already started having mc.

Nothing is in our hands.. I'm just praying for some hope.

Hi everyone,

My fertility dr wanted to me to go for blood work for all the testings 3rd day of my periods and she wanted me to come in if I dont get my periods in 30days. It was 32nd day last monday, I went and they did blood work on me. Yesterday the nurse called and said looks fine I should be getting my periods in a week. She said dr wants me to go for 2 hour GTT also.
I'm really concerned and worried now because dr wants to take Glucose test all of a sudden. I wonder if she doubts I have diabetes? I'm so worried now. Has anyone gone through this?

Hi Sangita,
My Gynec told to check my glucose level after my first visit itself along with list of all other tests. Nothing to worry. May be to ensure our health condition & proceed with the treatment they want to know it! Just relax. Don't get much worried on this. Everything will be fine. Take care of your health!

look at it this way - You can solve a problem ONLY if you know it exists.
GTT is common - I understand how we panic, I did too.. and its ok to panic. These tests are just to make sure that known possibilities are ruled out. So don't worry be happy.

The baby wants a happy and healthy mommie!

Ladies, Thanks a lot for your replies. It really comforts me mentally. I just spoke to my nurse and she said the dr just wants to make sure my insulin level is fine and metformin is expected to increase the fertility. But not sure how long they would put me on metformin.. I'm going for the gtt in 2 days, also the salpingo gram to check the uterus and ovaries. Just hoping everything is fine

Sorry for ur loss.Try to cooperate with the doctor and follow the treatment u will be fine for ur next pregnancy.Pray to the God and hope for the best.God may have some plan so u wait and see.Nowadays there are lot of ways to find out the exact reason and cure.Who knows sometimes u may get pregnant during the treatment period itself .So be happy.I too had 1 m/c and hoping for the best to happen.

Missed abortion

hi all,

last april 08 i conceived, but only after two and half months, came to know through a scan that there is no growth in baby..so dr advised me to go for a D&C..

now im trying to conceive.. is there any do's and dont's i should follow? i do get scared sometimes, since my first experience was v.bad..i moved from chennai to gurgaon,near delhi recently..can anyone suggest?

Sorry to hear ur loss.Dont worry I too had one m/c in 2007 after that 6-8 months I was worrying again the same may happen.But nowadays I forgot everything and I am praying to get conceive and then the rest.Due to PCOD the harmones again changed and I am working again for this.So dont worry nothing will happen to u this time and u will be blessed with a baby without facing any problem.So dont stress urself it may delay ur conception.
