    That is so true.

Dad avoids foods that cause heat.

Even when I suggest he eats prunes, he cannot because it is heat causing.

Suggested Prunes ? As far as I remember your old posts , doesn’t he have diarrhea issues ?

CE- better to consult a diet/ nutrition expert than analyzing yourself or asking here for his diet issues . What may work for one may not work for him . He is not in his 20s that he can digest a whole lot of things . Given the age and the health issues you always talk about , better to consult an expert .

Half to one table spoon everyday helps. 1 tsp doesnt add much heat to the body. Slowly you can benefit.

    CE,
I ,+1 sunny here. Why don't you see a expert? Its difficult to assume and treat few symptoms on our own, and considering age factor of your dad it will not work. It might lead to something else .Please seek expert advice.

Yes, he had diarrhea while taking Linzess. More of diarrhea one moment, constipation the next

Once he stopped Linzess (about a month ago), diarrhea gone, now it's just constipation

That's true .... he's unable to digest a lot of things.

OP, I remember reading that your father has Diverticulitis . In that situation , people advice diary free, gluten free diet. In case of infection and inflamation or flare up there can be diarrhea. A liquid diet is prefered in serious situations. Slowly increase fibre intake from low fibre to high fibre diet that's help full for this condition. Talk this to doctor or dietician .

Drinking water, doing exercise etc may help constipation. Also try fibre supplements or stool softeners. Milk of magnesia may help. Try also potty stool.

Go diary free for a week and see how it is. Hope he feels better. I have noticed many people are getting lactose intolerant in recent days. One of my friend recently confirmed that severe bloating and abdominal pain she had was due to lactose intolerance . So she stopped all milk products and now feels perfectly fine
