Only microwave safe vessels should be used in a microwave and never metallic to avoid short circuit. Most cake tins are aluminium.
These days you get silicon vessels as well which are microwave safe as silicon does not melt.

use ceramic, glass bowls in mw for heating purposes. tupperware/food grade bowls are a second choice.

i use glass and ceramic bowls only.

Go for glass....I don't think that silicon holds up long term and it stains.

though there is no study against siliicon for baking..i would say go with namma ooru manchatti (well treated ones), glassware or ceramic. rest whatever you cook on mw before eating..

baking you can use aluminium too..
