Dear friends,Few days back on a TV show I saw a demonstration of microwave cooking. The lady used a special plate like a non stick tray to make chicken tikka. She said this plate was for browning purposes used in combination mode of cooking. She said it is made of a special material and it is not non stick even though it looks like that.Anybody use this plate?Know where it is available in Kochi.Does it make food crisp on combination mode? Will be very grateful for your replies. Is there a thread for microwave dishes on IL? I am new to this site.Thank you for your cooperation.

    Dear Sansam,

I have a samsung MW with convection that comes with a crusty plate. It is the same plate as you are referring to.It is used for pizzas, buns, cookies etc. For a tikka, you would need a wire rack and some skewers. I keep on the grill mode for 15- 20 minutes for paneer tikka. There are separate threads for MW and Oven Cooking. Please refer the links below.
