Hi, I am planning to buy a microwave idli maker for occasional use to prepare quick breakfast / tiffin for kids when short on time. Those who have used or are using microwaveable idli makers, please pour in your reviews/suggestions on: * how does it compare to the conventional cooking methods (pressure cooker, steam cooker) * do the idles come out as soft and fluffy as they do when cooked in pressure cooker * I also plan to use it for kids' tiffin so will the idlis remain soft until their break time, which is a gap of approx 4 hrs after preparation * pls give recommendations of good brands Thanks a lot!
Cook only until 3/4 done and then leave it outside the microwave to stand for 5-10 mins to complete cooking. This way the idlis wont be too hard. Also batter should be slightly less thicker in consistency for microwave method.
Hi, Well I am using this microwave idli maker with ready to mix Idli pack and with in 5 minutes pluffy idlis are ready for early mrg breakfast. I am Happy with it.
