What about keeping Pea-cock Or pea-hen feather between the pages of book note or text expecting it to grow and multiply. My conjuice (parsimonious) friend tall & podgy Singara Velu born with silver spoon in his mouth, used to stealthily munch monkey masala nuts in the ongoing class. He was caught nut-handed and punished by class teacher after his half pant pocket emptied of nut packet. He stood on the bench during the rest of the duration of that period in the after-noon.

transported my mind to a hilarious anecdote.​

A thin shorty class mate by name Sri Ram
with weak bladder
& a tuft of hair on his tiny head
in a drawing class, felt strong urge and
sought permission to leave for toilet.

He stood up from his seat and
raising his index finger sharp vertically up
shouted in haste or hurry “SIR” r - slurring.
The drawing master -half shaven head -
with a tuft at back
busy drawing using
white and colout chalk
-pencils
a picture of Goddess Saraswathi
with Her Vehicle Swan by joining dots.

He felt distracted and annoyed and softly called
pupil Sri Ram close to him and
instructed to keep his left hand outstretched palm open. He said he would award punishment to SriRam
by striking his palm
with a slender two-foot cane three times.

My class mates all remain tensed -fear-gripped.
First strike he uttered with pain “Aah Ayyo”.
Second strike he received with welled up eyes
shouted at the top of his lungs, “ay yai yo ay yai oh”.

Few of my class mates sitting in first row
were in tears too.

The last & final third strike would be
excessively hard - expected Sri Ram.
The drawing master “hand” took the cane
back as far as he could
to produce that LETHAL final strike
but a smart Sri Ram at the right juncture, moved away his palm from path of cane.
The drawing master found to suffer this time with sprained shoulder and the class had a gaga moment to relish for long!
The floor was already wet

There are so many memories of school. While leaving school.everyone took autograph I had no money so made a book.and gave to my class teacher. She returned everyone's autograph and I was so disappointed asmy book was missing. Distributed to everyone and found a book in myname. Was so happy and thanked her.
Due to financial problem we could not go to school for a year and one aunty go free admission in comvent school. Used to go to school with my best friend who had a car and was very rich but down to earth.

If I have to thank there are so many people because of whom I have reached this height

 

I remember you had mentioned her in one of your jottings during pandemic. I think she was lost to covid-19.

The episode of teacher surprising you with a beautiful autograph in a different new one instead of your note-book is a sweet-tear welling up moment. I enjoyed this scene vicariously.
