me! my hubby! and exercise!!!!!!!

    Dear friends,

    My husband who is 6.3" tall and his tummy is perpendicular to his height. I wanted him to shed that extraaaaaaaaaaa fat in tummy area.

    first thing I did is followed a strict diet no porichadhu no varuthadhu, and many other NOs. My DH cooperated well with me. cho chweeeeeeet.

    then it dint work that much i found that tummy laughing at me unnala mudinjadha paru enna asaika mudiyadhu........

    i wanted him to go fo work outs he told the gym is so far that he cannot drive that far (10 mins drive). he promised me if they set gym in our apartment he would work out.

    the day came and we had our own gym in our apartments i too accompanied him in the beginning then due to morning household chores i couldnt so he went alone. it went qute well.

    then he found it very difficult to take the lift go down open the gym and do workouts then lock the room take the lift to 2nd floor. for that he asked me to find about exercises which he can do at home. thru IL i got many steps and i asked him to do. he did it for few days. then again he had complaints of his own.

    then he asked me to find out some exercise which he can do by sitting. i taught him some yogasanas and few exercise which we can do in sitting position. he did it and again.........

    he asked for exercises which he can do by lying down......... i found two such exercise in IL .

    one is to do cycling with legs by lying flat on ur back and the other one do swimming by lying flat on ur stomach. he was doing it.

    today morning i wanted to check whether he is doing his exercise he was lying flat wihout any movements.. i asked him why are u not cycling........ he replied :eek:mg:that he is taking rest while the backrider is pedaling for him it seems.

    I said,"ok! enough. now u do swimming........ he immediately turned on his stomach and was lying simply......... I asked what happened why he not doing.... he told that he is swimming inside the water(ul neechal adikrarama).............

    please help me with this how to mak him do exercise

    believe me i lost 4 Kgs in these days..........

    Had a laugh..really well written...but can understand....

    Same thing happening with veda...

    I will start...veda why dont you roll your arms...and shake your legs while watching tv...the moment he sees me the rolling will be so fast i will think he is working..the moment i am out..he is sprawled on the sofa..:mad:.

    now that i am in chennai he is exercising you know where and how...on the phone....:mad:
    At least you lost 4kgs...but i dont lose or gain..i am maintaining a weight not to be mentioned for the past 5-6 years..which is a wonder to my doctor who keeps on telling me that i can reduce..since i know the art of maintaining....:crazy

    shanthi if u really wanna loose weight and if ure serious about it here it is what i did

    stopped all white items (milk & curd, salt &sugar ) alternatively means if u take milk no curds vice versa and if sugar no salt and vice versa. 1 week this 1 week that.

    no rice but in the form of idlis dosas ok that too for morng break fast for dosa no oil( cook by covering it like appam). substitute rice with broken wheat cooked like rice along with ash grd or bottle grd daily for lunch u can mix sambar or rasam with this.

    these are the main changes in your diet.
    apart from this lots of fresh vegies and little seletive fruits.

    once in a week i cook rice the brown one (kerala rice) unpolished

    i cant control my laugh.........but friend, sorry, iam ur hubby side.......bcos me OBESE and my hubby normal weight with not big abdomen but me having like PANAI ......
    and like ur hubby do everything vigorously for first 5 days

    what to do, u people can simply say 'DO EXERCISE" , u can feel the pain only if u do......

    First i thought, I will reply for this... How poor we husbands are.... dancing to all the tunes of the wife, in the name of reducing the tummy....

    Before, I could do, I saw my sweetu wife replied... Now, now, I cant afford to say anything....

    Hehehehehehe Good one in my case it is the opposite my hubby goes on telling go for smimming,or walking or some excercise I feel so lazy to do it.
    Hello Latha I am with you ya:thumbsup sometimes it is painful, as long as we are health why worry???

    It was hilarious comedy. Ha ha , it was really good, i couldnt stop laughing

    Sorry you were telling your plight but i was imagining and started laughing sorry, sorry. Dont worry there are so many in your boat. I used to remind my hubby about the oil advertisement. It is really difficult. We both crib about our tummy, i have also done so many things that you have mentioned but weight is not budging even a little.
    Few say that i look reduced but the weight machine shows the same weight always.

    Extra ideas to add to your weight reduction list
    1) Try to sit down instead of sofa or chair. Sitting and getting up helps in the long run.
    2) Try to eat dinner before 7PM and eat a fruit or drink juice later if you are hungry and you have the habit of sleeping late.
    3) Dont eat snacks/fried items etc while you watch TV particularly.
    4) After eating dont sleep immediatly. Try to avoid afternoon sleep if you have the habit.
    5) When you sit in sofa dont rest your leg on the coffee table, try to keep the legs down always.

    It is easy to give ideas for weight loss but it is very very difficult to reduce even if we follow some of them religiously.
