Matriarchy as a solution to a whole lot of issues

I have this feeling that just as communities broke up steadily and successively from joint families (which had many advantages) to even single parent families; the pressures of modern stressful living will reverse the situation with people opting for community living which has matriarchal qualities / characteristics, in a few years down the line. This will be the ultimate natural process of evolution from marital status and its many variations like "live-in" and so on.

 

They might have failed for a variety of reasons. But that is no reason to experiment again. Was joint family system a failure? Times changed and nuclear families became the order of the day. Today marriages are not easy. And people are experimenting; but with our old baggage. Give this concept time till it clicks. And this will happen and is already happening in a different way. It's a matter of time.

 

I think a good percentage of marital problems have their roots mainly in economic insecurity, followed by other personal and social issues. And as materialism keeps tightening its hold, this only gets worse. The point is even when we know what ails our society and personal lives we seem helpless to resolve irritants because the ambience is just not there. So the whole system must seek to be reformed and perhaps the society described above is the solution. Every solution is not absolute but may be valid for the times. All we have to do is to exercise a bit of constructive imagination.

 

And take atleast baby steps to venture out of our comfort zone (a settled method of working that requires little effort and yields only barely acceptable results) with an open and positive mind. Today marriage is more a business deal and all ideals evaporate when confronted with hurdles. And as a commercial transaction we have to expect all the problems that confront business and economics. This is the position with a significant majority of marriages. So let's atleast theoretically look for alternative plausible solutions. A negative mind destroys peace and best ignored lest we too should be influenced thus.

There is no one solution. But we cannot live a good and best part of our lives in misery for whatever reason.
