I wanna learn malyalam to communicate with my MIL but i already have an US Accent english which i have been following which is making it too difficult to pronounce the words. Hai Aasma, Congrats on your marriage. Learning malayalam is very easy. Try to follow malayalam channels especially news channels like manorama news, Reporter, PeopleTV. It will be a bit easy for you.

Malayaleee... get happy when other struggling or in trouble.. Get frustrated and high bp if someone is doing great.. Get into that rythem ..u can survive even without knowing a single Malayalam word!!

Just tell her that "ummakku sukamalle?".. Mean wether she is doing well. Just 2-3 words in malyam in the first meet... But in casual way..Thats enough to win people heart..

write it down some one of the commonly used words (how are you, how is your health) and memorize it the first time..later on try to pickup slowly... by watching movies, watching news or watching kids shows...
