For all those interested in composting:
The Montgomery County here in MD, USA, their Public Works Dept. gives out free compost material i.e. a thick rubber sheet [perforated to use as a fence around your compost heap. I learned you can also get worms from them. They also test (free) your soil sample for PH balance.

    Hi Malathi
Thanks for sharing..that is good news.. A s far as I know all public counties will test soil for ph for free. Need to look into compost resources.. Though I love to garden I dont think i can take that smell..I get very good soil here maybe for an extra buck I still think its worth the price considering the other work thats involved in maintaing compost heap..
One of the reasons locals here opt for compost is because when you have large lots to farm its economical..for house gardens like mine I think I can manage with soil that I have and soil that I can buy..
However for my rose garden i have to add extra lime to maintain their ph balance
    Luckily I havent started hydrangea..
Looks like i rambled too long..:queen

Rose Gardening - How to take care rose plants
is a nice site with information on rose care. I also do not compost. I buy Leaf-grow every other year or so and that seems to be very good.
Good Luck with your rose garden!

    Hello Malathy
Just saw your reply. I checked out the site very nice andhelpful hints
Mostly follow them but not very regular in fertilizers and spraying
I also need to setup a irrigation system. everything is taking time.
