    Good topic, good information, beauty tips and recipes.

    As Mango is the popular fruit, it is being cultivated and enjoyed in over 100 countries of the world.

    Top 5 mango producing countries are India, China, Pakistan, Mexico and Thailand.

    I am giving here, the 5 types of mangoes available in USA.

    Tommy Atkins:

    It is from Mexico--availability in the market from Feb. through July.
    Large, oblong, green with hues of red--firm, juicy-moderate fiber-smaller pit-strong and pleasant scent.

    Ataulfo:

    From Mexico--availability in the market from March through July.
    Compact---kidney shaped-green to yellow when ripe--velvety smooth-no fibrous texture--thinner pit--intensely sweet and full.

    Haden:

    From Mexico--availability from March through June.
    Medium---oval-round shaped-yellow accompanied by red-orange blush when ripe--sweet in flavour--moderate fiber.

    Kent:

    From Mexico--June through August.
    Large --green on the outside with an occasional red blush--smooth flesh--minimal fiber--sweet rich in flavour.

    Keitt:

    From Mexico---July through September.
    Large, oval shaped-green with the hint of rosy-orange blush--smooth flesh--minimal to mild fiber--juicy--rich flavour.

    My vote from those 5 varieties are for..Kent, Haden and Keitt.

    Hello Everybody...

    Wanna try out a delicious pudding out of Mangoes...
    Here it goes!!!!

    A Recipe for 5 people (one large bowl)

    Ingredients:

    Mango pulp(taken out of 2mangoes with sugar added)
    Fresh Cream/Double Cream
    Rasgulla
    Vanilla essence

    Method of Preparation:

    Cut a mango into finely chopped cubes and keep it in a bowl.
    Take 500 gms of fresh cream and add 4 teaspoons of sugar to it and keep it aside in a separate bowl.
    Take 2 mangoes,blend them properly without using water,prepare a pulp and add some sugar as required and 2,3 drops of vanilla essence.keep it in a separate bowl.
    Cut the rosgullas in to 3 slices horizontally,extracting the extra sugar syrup from it and keep those sliced rosgullas in a bowl.

    Now take a large container.
    Put 1st layer of Fresh cream with sugar added
    2nd layer of the mango pulp with vanilla essence
    3rd layer of sliced Rosgulla

    repeat the procedure again till the container is filled to the top.Remember filling the last layer with the fresh cream,as you have to place the finely sliced cubes of the mangoes on the top of the container.
    Place the container in the Refrigerator.for about 2 hours.
    Your yummy yummy mouth watering Pudding is ready to serve.

    i would like to share some interesting facts about mangoes with you; did you know:
    1. Mangoes originated in India and have been recorded to be growing here for more than 6000 years.
    2. It were the Buddhists who took this fruit to south-east Asian countries.
    3. Mangoes distantly belong to the same family as pistachios and cashew :confused2:
    4. Mango tree also belongs to the same family as Poison ivy.
    5. Mango is the National Fruit of India.:cheers
    6.In Thailand, mango is called TONG DOOM ie Black Gold(Why black? I dont know):rotfl
    7. In Prakrit mango is called amra; in Sanskrit, it has been referred to as chuta.

    Dear Mango Lovers,

    All the recepies submitted sound interesting and I can't wait to try them out.

    Come summer, we in our family have mangoes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Inbetween to quench our thirst we have aam panna. I would like to share a very simple recipe with you which is a big hit with all my family members and friends.

    Make some thick mango milkshake with mangoes, milk and a little sugar. Take a big glass and put some finely cut pieces of mango fruit, put a scoop of vanilla ice cream over it and pour some milk shake over it. Repeat the same thing till the glass is full and garnish with mango pieces and serve. Im sure everyone will enjoy this.

    Behind delicious taste, mango has extraordinary properties, such as cure influenza disease, an addition to appetite, weight loss and others.

    Mango contain vitamin A, C and E that are very good for rejuvenating the skin and prevent cancer. Mangoes are also rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber and carbohydrates. Acid content of mango, very good for digestion, riboflavin in mango to maintain good eye health, the mouth and throat.

    If the consume mangoes, choose good quality, which is cooked in the tree that is not too ripe or unripe, solid performance but not too loud, smells wonderful but it does not sting.
    How to treat influenza with mango is: Prepare a mango that has been in mabil meat, ginger about the size of a finger, and two pieces of garlic. All the materials are boiled with 500 cc of water until the left half. Then strain and drink while warm.

    To cure a cough or shortness of breath, a mango fruit, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of honey, 100 ml of warm water, mix all ingredients and pound until smooth. Drinking less than two times every day.

    MANGO RICE

    1 cup grated raw mango
    1 cup grated carrot
    boiled pea.
    1 cup cooked rice
    4 green chillies
    oil 2 spoon
    mustard seeds , urad dal , little hing.
    Take half of the quantity of hot cooked rice in a large bowl. put grated mango on that put remining rice. leave it for 20 mins. Add grated carrot and boiled peas. Heat oil add mustard, urad dal, green chillies and hing.
    Mix it with rice.Optional add crushed peanuts and 5 spoons grated coconut.

    Interesting topic............'THE KING OF ALL FRUIT--MANGOES"YUMMY MY FAVOURITE.....


    i want to share a simple easy recepie with you all,my mom use to make it for me..

    we can call it juicy mango sarbat or mango lassi

    ingrediants

    mangoes
    sugar(if necessary)
    sweet yogart
    nuts(almond,cashew,pista,raisens)

    procedure

    first we have to cut the mango in small dice,(peel of the skin)blend it in a mixi machine,pour it through a clean net......put that in a bowl,now take the sweet yougart
    blend it with some ice(if needed add little sugar)......when the bubble is formed add the refined mango pulp from the bowl.....blend it well,......put it in a glass keep in the refrigerator......after half an hour bring it out put some nuts(almond,cashew.raisen,pista,cherries cut to half...decorate it as you desire and serve with a straw......
