National award winning actor Kamal Haasan suffered a tragic loss in his family, as his elder brother and movie producer Chandra Haasan (extreme right in the above picture) passed away last night in London. He was 82 and had been at his daughter and actress Anu Haasan’s house when this happened. As per a report in Indiaglitz, the reason for his sad demise is given as a sudden cardiac arrest. This is the second time the family is facing a tragedy like this in 2017, as in January, Chandra Haasan’s wife Geethamani has passed away.

Chandra Haasan is the only sibling among the Haasan brothers, Kamal Haasan and Charuhaasan being the others, who hasn’t acted in a movie. He was actually content being the man behind the making of these movies, and he and his younger brother, Kamal Haasan were the proprietary partners of Raj Kamal Films International, that has produced movies like Raja Paarvai, Hey Ram, Virumaandi, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Vishwaroopam, Uttama Villain and Thoonga Vanam. He was born to Parthasarathy and Rajalakshmi in Paramakudi. Chandra Haasan and Kamal Haasan are the proprietary partners of Raj Kamal Films International which has produced many classic films and blockbusters. Though he was not interested in acting, his daughter Anu Haasan has been an actress who made her debut with Indira, that was directed by her cousin Suhasini Maniratnam. She was also a part of movies like Run, Nala Damayanthi, Aalavandhan (where she played her uncle, Kamal Haasan’ mother) and Aadhavan, and was also the host of the popular talk show Koffee with Anu.

 

In a terrible blow to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her family, her father Krishnaraj Rai passed away this evening after a prolonged illness. He was admitted at Mumnai’s Lilavati Hospital, where Aishwarya and her family, including her husband Abhishek had been taking care of him. Mr Rai had been in a very critical state since the last couple of weeks, and he had been placed in the ventilator, but his condition had been deteriorating day by day. As per the statement of the doctor who had been treating him, he said, “He was suffering from lymphoma cancer which spread to his brain. Today somewhere around 4 pm he passed away. He was admitted 3 weeks back.” It’s truly sad news, and on behalf of BollywoodLife, we offer our deepest condolences to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her kin, and hope they find the moral strength to get over this tragedy.

A source said, “Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been there constantly and managing Aaradhya and her father in hospital. Abhishek Bachchan too is present in the hospital and is being with Aishwarya throughout.” His last rites are being conducted at this moment, and Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali have made it to the rites.

Now the latest controversial rumour doing the rounds is superstar Suriya converting to Islam. Reportedly, a video of Suriya entering the mosque has gone viral on social media, There have been on-going speculations that the Tamil star might be converting to Islam. But turns out this rumour is baseless on all grounds. As per reports on HT, here’s what a source close the actor had to say – “All these reports are baseless. During the shoot of Singam 2, AR Rahman had invited Suriya to Kadappa mosque and it was just a casual visit, Suriya has no intention to change his religion and we only wish media act more responsible on such reports.Suriya was last seen in Singam 3 that released on Feb 9. It was third part of the cop franchise. The film starred Shruti Haasan and Anushka Shetty. It fared brilliantly at the box office, as per reports the film raked in Rs 100 crore. The Tamil superstar is currently shooting for Vignesh Shivan’s Thana Serndha Koottam. The film is set against a rural backdrop and reportedly talks about a father-son relationship. This film will also mark Suriya’s first film with Keerthy Suresh.

 

We all know that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going through a really tough phase because of her father's sudden demise. Everyone from Bollywood offered their condolences to the Bachchan family but the only person who was missing was none other than Salman Khan. Despite working with Amitabh Bachchan in so many films and sharing a cordial relationship with Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan chose to skip the prayer meet of Aishwarya Rai's father. According to The Financial Express it has something to do with his past.

In an interview with the actress, who is making her comeback in Kollywood, the diva was asked to comment on whether she will be visiting Karan’s babies, Yash and Roohi. To this, Kajol gave a curt reply as she said, “I am not answering any questions on that particular topic.”

Celebs have been flocking over at Johar’s residence on a daily basis, to meet with the young Johars. The very recent celebrity to have visited the filmmaker is Katrina Kaif. The diva was spotted outside his residence, with a big smile plastered on her face. Although, he hasn’t revealed the faces of his babies yet, the director did showcase what Yash and Roohi’s rooms would look like. For the interior decor, he asked good friend Gauri Khan, to swish her wand and cast a spell. Result? It’s a lovely room. But alas, we won’t be seeing Kajol anywhere around the babies, not anytime soon at least.On professional front, while Kajol is doing Soundarya Rajinikanth’s VIP 2 with Dhanush, Karan Johar is gearing up for the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion. There’s a lot on Johar’s plate as he has a lot of films to produce. Interestingly, both the stars are doing South projects. On Friday evening, Vinod Khanna was hospitalised for extreme dehydration but soon son Rahul Khanna stated that he was recovering. However, this latest pic of the yesteryear actor from the hospital has left us worried. The actor looks pale and very weak as he stands with his family members for a picture. Now, this is definitely not the Vinod Khanna we remember as the actor was quite healthy. A report in Indian Express has stated that the actor is suffering from cancer, which has caused the drastic transformation. Khanna, who is also the MP of Gurdaspur, had recently revealed during a press conference that he is suffering from bladder cancer. He further added that he was recovering from it and he’s mostly in perfect health.

While the hospital reps have refused to comment on any health updates of the actor, son Rahul Khanna had assured everyone that he is fine and recuperating. “Dad was hospitalised on Friday for severe dehydration. The situation was quickly brought under control, he’s doing much better and the doctors are looking to discharge him soon. Our family is most grateful for the extraordinary care he’s been receiving at the hospital and we are touched by all the good wishes pouring in,” he said. The family have asked the hospital officials to not reveal anything about the actor’s health status.As you can see the picture, he does look extremely weak. Khanna, who was once bulky and fit looks pale and frail as he stands alongside his family members. As soon as this pic went up on social media, folks started commenting on how he looks different and ill, despite his son claiming him to be recovering.

 

Salman Khan‘s is the undisputed “Bhai” of the film industry, mostly for his generous nature. He has launched one too many actors in the film industry – no wonder his sister Arpita Khan Sharma also looked towards him for help.

It has been reported that Salman was supposed to launch Arpita’s husband Ayush Sharma, but he got quite busy with his work commitments and was unable to do it. Therefore, Arpita is miffed with her brother for not keeping his promise.


Apparently, Salman had spoken to some filmmaker, but later thought to give him a break through his own production house (Salman Khan Films). However, nothing has worked out so far!
