    Hello friends...
    I have never eaten barley. I am interested to add it to my dinner soups.I am wondering which type of barley is good for human consumption in terms of health.Hulled or pearled? Can someone throw some light in this?

    Mid day snack -1 banana
    Lunch - small cup methi millet pulav with beetroot and carrot salad
    Dinner -poha with chicken fry
    Water - 7 glasses

    Pressed, Pearled, Hulled -- are all OK for human consumption.
    The difference between these are the cooking times, and therefore "textures" in the way they feel as you chew.
    Chinese, Koreans as well as Japanese stores sell these in plastic bags -- by themselves and/or mixed with other grains. Half-&-half rice-barley is one of the usual things you'll see in shops. This is likely to ease people into barley -- when they had never had it before.

    Hi gals, so good to see all of you back here. Me too tried IF, but it does not work for me. 16 hours is inhuman, especially as I don't eat a lot in one go. Anyway summer, small meals and mostly curd rice is certainly helping. Have managed to come down about 3 kilos in the last couple of months. Only portion control.

    Hi all, back here and want to modify my journey. I have 'progressed' in life - was diagnosed with diabetes after going down with Covid last year. Been on Metformin since then. Am currently controlling portions drastically as also what I eat. Often do not succeed with 'what' I eat - I still do eat rice of different varieties but in small quantities. My goal is to reduce medication to whatever degree possible.

    Would love company here in sharing what we eat all over again. Let us re-start the motivation game all over again. @Shanvy, if you are around, please do come back.

    Hi welcome after a long hiatus . Glad or is it sad that u r " progressed!
    Sabhudhan made from roots into pearls and on weekly upvas day all hotels keep vada made out of sabhudhana in menu in all udipi hotels in then Bombay.
    In granule form it is easy to make porridge out of it and considered good for diabetic early stage or on border.
    Ate you moving around in scooter with face masked and head covered by a helmet . Regards.
