Let us check it out.

The expiry date is coded alpha-numerically where Alpha represents quarters of the year and Digits stand for the year till it is valid!

    1. A for March (First Qtr),
    2. <!--D(["mb","2. B for June (Second Qtr),
3. C for Sept (Third Qtr),
4. Valid till D09 means fourth quarter of the year 2009.

Next time when cylinder is dropped at your place, do not hesitate to check the Expiry Date!

Attached picture is of the expired Cylinder of my home! You have learnt something today! Isn't it!

    Hi Seno,

Normally they do not, my cylinder's expiry date was at the end of this month, but my cylinder got empty before that itself. When they supply cylinders they keep 2 months min margin of expiry date, but it is always safe to check! Isn't it!

    Hi Anu,

I was so excited, that I ran to my cylinder to check where it is written, all these years I never knew that these numbers meant expiry date. Ooooppps!
